Matcha is a known mood enhancer. It will cleanse
and detoxify the blood, protect eyes, support and nourish the liver, reduce
arthritis pain, support healthy eyes, improve cholesterol levels, fight cancer
and other diseases and improve strength during workouts.
Matcha is whole green tea leaves finely ground into powder. The nutritional
health benefits of Matcha tea exceed those of green tea as it provides over 130
times the antioxidant power of green tea. Antioxidants eliminate free
radicals and toxins in the body, reducing our susceptibility to disease,
wrinkles, illness and fatigue. The more high-antioxidant foods we eat the
better our bodies can detoxify. Antioxidants also support a strong immune
system and healthy skin.
Matcha Green Tea is an excellent source of cleansing chlorophyll and gentle
caffeine energy. It has about 1/4 the caffeine of coffee & it is a
absorbed by the body in a much different and healthier way than coffee. In
matcha the caffeine is released into the bloodstream very slowly, resulting in
a slow steady caffeine energy boost, as opposed to coffees spikes and crashes.
The effects of Matcha are caused
by the amino acid L-Theanine, known to increase mental clarity, relaxation
and calmness. Matcha has been used for centuries by Buddhist monks to mediate
for this reason.
When consumed prior to a workout Matcha Green Tea increases the bodies
metabolism by 25%! And in general Matcha increases the body calorie burn by 4 X
the normal rate.
Matcha is wonderful whisked into a tea or made into a latte, however it’s
important to note that dairy milk negates Matcha’s effects. Be careful adding
soy as it can have a similar effect: we like our lattes with homemade nut or
hemp milk, 1/2 teaspoon raw vanilla bean & a little date sugar (or instead
try blending one whole date).
