One thing we never tire of in our house is salad because greens heal!! The trick to making a healthy salad is to find a nutritious dressing: chemicals, oils, saturated fat & processed sugars are COUNTERPRODUCTIVE to a healthy body so SKIP them & make your own, oil free! They can be as simple or as complicated as we like: Maple syrup, mustard & Braggs Apple Cider vinegar are a great combo & maybe even a little hot sauce: Delic! Braggs ACV supports a healthy immune system, helps control weight, promotes digestion, encourages an alkaline ph & helps remove toxins. And that’s just what it does on the inside! It’s also great for skin, hair & even soothes sore muscles.
One of our favorite dressings to serve when we have company is Chef Aj’s House Dressing, recipe below. We often sub the lemon juice for Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar & it’s great both ways. You can find her book ‘Unprocessed’ in our Online Boutique.
Chef AJ’s House Dressing
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 Tablespoons tahini
- 6 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 4 Tablespoons low sodium tamari
- 4 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 8 Tablespoons nutritional yeast
- 1 Tablespoon date syrup or pure maple syrup
Blend until smooth.
