What is the best source of calcium?
Eating more greens is the best thing we can do for our health! For example, the best source of calcium is dark green vegetables and here’s a list of some favorites:
- Collard Greens
- Swiss Chard
- Turnip Greens
- Mustard Greens
- Red & Green Leaf lettuce
- Sea Vegetables
- even Iceberg Lettuce 🙂
“I never recommend a multivitamin for general health. I think it’s a waste of money, and generally the scientific authorities agree… In addition, there may be a higher risk of kidney stones and heart attacks in those who use calcium supplements.” – Dr. Thomas Campbell, author of The Campbell Plan
Plants are natures ‘vitamin pills’ and you’ll almost gain exactly as much calcium in a cup of easily digestible, nutrient dense spinach as you will in a cup of cows milk, minus the hormones, antibiotics, cancer causing casein and heavy environmental footprint.
